Somewhere in Japan
1940s antique Japanese mosquito net
114 x 45 cm
This triptych was made slowly, using materials shaped by time and use. It brings together two antique Japanese mosquito net fabrics from the 1940s, dyed with natural indigo. The fabric shows clear signs of wear, areas softened over time, small holes repaired with leftover textiles and simple embroidery. These repairs sit alongside the original cloth, linking past and present. The mix of darker and faded blues creates a steady, quiet rhythm, where care and repair become part of the work itself.
